Thunderstruck follows an American exchange student who arrives in Norway and finds herself in a love triangle with an environmental activist and an aloof professor — who turn out to be the Norse gods Thor and Loki — and will be published by HarperFiction (UK) and Avon (US) in Fall 2026.
About the author
Lissa Layland lives on Bunurong / Boon Wurrung land, with her husband and rescue greyhound.
As a nine-year-old, she wrote and performed theatre performances that were essentially pantheon fanfiction for her endlessly patient classmates. It’s no surprise she now writes fantasy and romance for grown-ups.
Unlike the main character in THUNDERSTRUCK, Lissa dropped out of law school… But she has worked in climate justice, including on campaigns for legal complaints brought before the United Nations Human Rights Committee. What she really shares with her characters, though, is a deep love of libraries.
